Kelis wants to launch her own range of sauces.

The ‘Milkshake' singer is now a certified saucier after taking a course at renowned London culinary school Le Cordon Bleu and she wants to share her taste bud-tickling skills with the world.

She said: "I want to have my own sauce line. I became a saucier in school.

"I love the lifestyle of a great meal. I think food, fashion and music all go together when it's done right.

"I also want to get my sommelier certification, which I'm going to do eventually. I love the whole thing. I want to go back to school, too."

Kelis - who has a five-month-old son, Knight, with ex-husband Nas - sought comfort in the food course after becoming disillusioned with the music business after she was dropped by her record label in 2007.

The 30-year-old star - who is now signed to will.i.am Music Group/Interscope - added in an interview with the Idolater website: "I took some time off. I really just shut down, even to the point where I was like, I don't want to sing anymore. I went to culinary school and just regrouped and got my heart back for music."
